Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Recalled eggs from Costco are now being classified at the highest risk level for potential salmonella contamination. The FDA says the eggs are under a “Class One Recall,” meaning there’s a “reasonable probability” that the products “will cause serious adverse health consequences or death.”
The Handsome Brook Farms pasture-raised, organic, 24 count eggs were distributed to 25 Costco locations across Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee starting November 22nd. The recalled units have a use by date of January 5th, and specific recalled lot numbers can be found online. The company said the eggs were not meant for retailers but were mistakenly packaged and distributed.
