Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Precipitation could shift from snow to a wintry mix as the day progresses.
A snow/sleet mixture will become more prevalent toward I-70. Periods of heavy sleet south of I-70 may cut down on snow depth, but could make road conditions more treacherous.
Please be safe and if you do not have to travel, please stay at home through this winter storm. Stay up to date with local road conditions by utilizing IDOT’s gettingaroundillinois.com. Also make sure to check our Closings & Cancellations page for the latest closures due to the winter weather.
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for a large part of central and southeast Illinois, continuing into Monday morning. Colder air still on track once the winter storm moves out. Highs in the teens will be common by midweek, with overnight wind chills dropping well below zero.
