Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Most main roads are clear of snow and ice, but town and side roads are still snow packed and slick. Please continue to use caution when driving on the roadways.
As for the next few days, we are looking at extremely cold temperatures. This looks to continue well into next week, although temperatures look to stay far warmer than record-breaking levels. Highs look to be primarily in the lower to mid 20s through Thursday, then mid to upper 20s will be more common into early next week. Lows look to be in the single digits for most locations the next few nights, then teens are expected through the weekend.
There will be a chance for snow Friday. Amounts are likely to be light, although there appears to be at least a slight chance of exceeding 2 inches south of I-70 at this point.
As for snowfall totals from the winter storm, Effingham got about 9 inches of snow.
