Washington, DC-(Effingham Radio)- President Trump has ordered a freeze on federal aid, but a judge has blocked the order.
On Tuesday, a federal judge granted an administrative stay, pausing Trump’s plans at least through Monday. The freeze was set to take effect Tuesday at five p.m. Eastern.
The White House said President Trump’s freeze on federal aid was not meant as a blanket pause. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt faced questions about the order, and said it’s the responsibility of the Trump Administration to be stewards of Americans’ tax dollars.
The freeze would not have impacted Social Security, Medicare or direct payments to individuals.
