Neoga, IL-(Effingham Radio)- State Representative Brad Halbrook (R-Shelbyville) issued the following statement after visiting Neoga CUSD #3’s campus after substantial damage occurred during early morning tornadoes on Saturday. Damage was reported at both the Neoga Elementary and Junior and Senior High Schools. Due to precautionary measures, the school district will remain closed through next week as the damages are assessed.
“On Saturday afternoon, I toured Neoga school district’s campus to see the damage and was updated on what response efforts have been taken. In the meantime, I am in contact with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) and Governor Pritzker’s office, along with Senator McClure, Senator Rose, and Representative Niemerg to ensure that the Neoga community gets the help they need to rebuild following this tragedy. I will continue to work with all offices on the rebuild efforts for Neoga’s school district.”
