Timothy H. “Tim” Lidy, 77 of Wheeler, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Monday, March 31, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Island Grove, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday at the church. Memorial donations may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are in the care of Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham.
Tim was born July 5, 1947 in Effingham, the son of Victor and Delphine (Bierman) Lidy. He married Alice Westendorf on September 12, 1970. Tim dedicated many years to farming and raising livestock. He also found joy in fishing, riding his side-by-side, and cherishing moments with his grandchildren. He was an active member of St. Isidore Parish, Island Grove, and a 3rd degree member of the Newton Knights of Columbus #1704.
Tim is survived by his wife, Alice of Wheeler; sons, David (Anita) of Mulberry Grove and Kevin (Nichole) of Wheeler; brothers, Tom (Linda), Mike, and George (Debbie), all of Wheeler; grandchildren, Matt, Morgan, Nathan, and Brooke; in-laws, Marilyn (Larry) Cohorst, Dolores Will, Martha (Herb) Deimel, Jim (Nancy) Westendorf, Larry (Rose) Westendorf, and Sandy (Tom) Thull.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Holly Lidy; and brother-in-law, Alfie Will.
