Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Health & Insurance Committee held their monthly meeting Tuesday and heard updates from HopeTrust and the Health Department, and a discussion about remaining Opioid funding.
The Committee reported that around $66k is left for the opioid funding. Norbert Soldtwedel said the Committee should look at different ways to use the remaining funds. They will discuss further with the sheriff’s office to move forward.
HopeTrust had a representative present and said that the updates and bug fixes that caused some lapses in the enrollment periods have gone well and have been resolved, with everyone who experienced issues now having the issue fixed. HopeTrust said to reach out if anyone else has any problems.
The Health Department then announced that more federal grants have been cancelled. They also reported that hospitalizations from the flu and Covid have declined, but that both are still around. The Health Department advised the public to continue to be vigilant and use all necessary precautions to avoid becoming sick.
