Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- A blast of cooler temperatures is slated for tonight into tomorrow morning, and it could lead to frost and freezing.
A cold front will push across the region this morning, with brisk northwesterly winds gusting up to 30 mph at times. Seasonably cool temperatures are expected for the start of the week, including low temperatures in the 20s tonight. While the growing season is still young, there has been enough growth in many areas that any sensitive vegetation left exposed would be damaged by such cold. Be prepared to protect such vegetation Monday night.
Rain chances return mid-week (40-70% chance). Rainfall amounts are unlikely to exceed 1″.
We are still under a flood warning until 4pm tonight.
