Springfield, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Based on an experience of one of his constituents, State Representative Charlie Meier (R-Okawville) has passed legislation out of the Illinois House dealing with live-in family caretakers.
House Bill 1108 designates into law that the live-in family caretaker of an intellectually or developmentally disabled person does not have to fill out time sheets showing their hours taking care of person. In the attached audio, the representative explains the needs for the measure.
Nurses and other non-family caretakers still would have to fill out the time sheets.
The bill was approved on a vote of 105-1.
