Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- 911 Telecommunicators are on the front lines of crises and work directly with police and the public alike. Their jobs are crucial to make sure information is relayed to those who can help.
Effingham County and City Telecommunicators were recognized last year for their instrumental role in helping during the anhydrous ammonia incident in Teutopolis. They were named the 2024 INENA Public Safety Telecommunications Team of the Year.
Sheriff Kuhns gave more information on the job they do during Telecommunicators’ Week, which is April 13-19.
A big thank you to Sheriff Kuhns for stopping by the studio to give more information on our local telecommunicators. Their dedication and professionalism helped save lives in Teutopolis last year, and they continue to help save lives daily. We thank them for their efforts in making our community safer every day.
