
Emmitt W, Miller, age 82, of Flora, Illinois, went to be with his Lord on April 23, 2025.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM – Monday, April 28, 2025, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Olney, Illinois, with Reverand Duane Sovdi officiating. The burial will be in the Honey Cemetery in Bogota, Illinois with full military honors. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM – Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Olney, Illinois.
Emmitt was born on July 7, 1942, in Twey, Kentucky, the son of Amos and Marie (Lesley) Miller. Emmitt married Janet Hickox on July 31, 2009, in Olney, Illinois. Emmitt proudly served his country in the United States Army serving during the Viet Nam War. Emmitt lived in Kentucky most of his life and was a masterful mechanic. He spent most of his career working for auto dealerships but would work on individuals ‘cars as time allowed.
Emmitt attended the Transformation Church of God in Clay City. Emmitt and Janet enjoyed riding their motorcycles, but when they bought their Trike their trips became even more enjoyable. They loved to travel and had seen many places, but they most enjoyed their trips to the Great Smoky Mountains, which was Emmitt’s favorite place to visit. Emmitt loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar. He would sit by the campfire, or on his front porch and play.
Emmitt is survived by his wife Janet Miller of Flora, Illinois, children: Cynthia Golden of Purlear, North Carolina, Debbie (Allen) McClain of Centralia, Illinois, Rachael Miller of Cumberland, Kentucky, Eric (Marie) Miller of Sanford, North Carolina, James (Angela) Miller of Lexington, Kentucky, Louise (Doug) Bray of Cawood, Kentucky, Rhoda Broughton of Cameron, North Carolina
siblings: Ruby Marlowe of Olney, Illinois, Lee (Glenda) Miller of Olney, Illinois, Marion Miller of Olney, Illinois, Della Littlejohn of Olney, Illinois, Thirteen grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews
Emmitt was preceded in death by his parents, brother Earl Miller, sisters June Miller, Ann Miller and Lou Davis
