Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham County Chamber proudly welcomes Spero Family Services as one of its newest members.
With a rich history spanning over 100 years, Spero Family Services, formerly known as The United Methodist Children’s Home, has evolved from a children’s home into a multi-service agency dedicated to providing hope, help, and healing across Central to Southern Illinois. Their comprehensive programs are designed to support the emotional, educational, and behavioral well-being of youth, families, and individuals.
Spero’s Effingham location, situated at 1901 S. 4th St., Suite 206, offers two key programs: Wraparound Services and Nurturing Families. Wraparound Services is an intensive, strengths-based, and family-driven approach that helps families stay together while achieving their individual visions. The Nurturing Families program aims to teach positive parenting behaviors, thereby preventing family relapses, reducing juvenile delinquency, and breaking the cycle of abuse.
With its home base in Mount Vernon, Spero Family Services operates 12 locations across seven towns, including Effingham, Olney, Mount Vernon, West Frankfort, Marion, Murphysboro, and Springfield. Beyond these local efforts, Spero provides a wide range of services across 30+ counties, encompassing twelve programs in community services, clinical services, and child welfare services.
