The Mattoon Police Department arrested a man following a car chase that occurred on Saturday.
According to a report from the Mattoon Police Department, they arrested 36 year old, Nicholas I Pinkerton, formerly of Sturgis, Kentucky at 6:01am on Saturday. The press release stated that Pinkerton was brought into custody in rural Coles County, where the car chase ended. Allegedly, Pinkerton had stolen a vehicle in Neoga and has preceded to drive through Mattoon, where officers attempted to stop the vehicle. Pinkerton then led the officers on the car chase.
Pinkerton is being charged with Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Fleeing from Police. He was taken to Coles County Jail.
