VANDALIA, IL -(Effingham Radio)- A Vandalia man looks to be the Democrat candidate for the area’s State Senate seat.
On his Facebook page, Brian Stout announced last night that he has been slated to run for the 54th District State Senate seat.
On his Facebook page, he thanked all the counties of the district and says “I look forward to meeting the great people of the district, sharing our vision, and making southern Illinois an economic powerhouse.”
Although not stated, Stout would presumably run on the Democrat ticket–as there was no Democrat candidate in the March Primary.
Stout will face Republican Jason Plummer in the November General Election.
Plummer won a four way Primary race for the Republican nomination back in March.
Both Stout and Plummer are vying to replace State Senator Kyle McCarter, who chose not to run for another term.
