EFFINGHAM, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Former WCRC host, Bill Burry, sadly passed away on Sunday morning.
For over two decades, Burry was known throughout the listening area as the “Voice of Country Music” when he broadcasted with WCRC.
He shared his love of Country Music with our listeners everyday and enjoyed his Saturday morning show where he showcased many local artists and highlighted classic country artists.
Bill was born on October 5, 1941 in Mason and was married to Glenda McCluskey on November 24, 1963.
Bill passed away on Sunday at home with his wife by his side.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Glenda Burry, of Effingham, son Bill J. (Kim) Burry of Altamont, daughter April (Brett) Schuette of O’Fallon, grandchildren Justin Burry, Brant (Kirstie) Burry, Cameron (Mallory) Burry, and Bryson Schuette, step grandchildren Samantha Lucy, Jacob Lucy, and Christopher Lucy, great-grandchildren Kortland Burry and Emma Burry, and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10:00am on Friday, May 4th at First Baptist Church in Effingham with burial in Arborcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 4pm-7pm on Thursday, May 3rd at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.
