Normal, IL -(Effingham Radio)- Bloomington-Normal’s electric car maker is finally making good on its promise to make some cars. Rivian Automotive debuted both an electric SUV and electric pickup truck at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week. The start-up company has faced a wave of doubt since it took advantage of millions of dollars worth of incentives to buy the old Mitsubishi car plant in Normal last year. Rivian is touting its new vehicles for their quickness and battery life. But cost is an issue, since the pickup truck will sell for more than 61 thousand-dollars, and the SUV has a 70 thousand-dollar price tag.
