EFFINGHAM, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Severe thunderstorms are possible for our area on Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service in Lincoln, a weather system moving out of the southern plains will move northeast toward the Mississippi Valley and is expected to intensify as it does.
Increasing moisture will combine with the advancing cold front to possibly produce severe thunderstorms.
The main threat with this system will be damaging winds; however, there will is a tornado threat with the highest threat being towards the Ohio River Valley.
