Fayette County, IL -(Vandalia Radio)- We talk today with Courtney Sapp on the coronavirus. Courtney is an RN at the Fayette County Health Department.
She answers the question of what is the coronavirus?
Sapp says the coronavirus is a lot like the flu. And, she says just like with the flu, it can cause some individuals some more serious health problems.
And, she adds the best precautions to take are what we should be doing this time of year to avoid the flu and other seasonal illnesses.
There are now 11 cases of the virus in Illinois, with all in the Chicago area. But, there are cases in the St. Louis area and some possible exposures in the Springfield area, although no cases from that area at this time. We will talk more with the Fayette County Health Department coming up tomorrow.
