Mattoon, IL -(Effingham Radio)- The following information comes from the Mattoon Police Department:
Mattoon Police arrested Christopher M. Gast, 34 years of age of Mattoon, for an active Coles County Warrant for failing to appear in court on a 2020 Possession of Methamphetamine case, as well as for a new offense of Possession of Methamphetamine.
The arrest occurred on 11/6/2020 at 11:24pm in the 2000 block of Richmond Ave in Mattoon. The charge alleges that on 11/6/2020 police located Mr. Gast walking near 20th and Richmond, and took him into custody for the warrant. The charge alleges Mr. Gast had possession of methamphetamine during this arrest. Mr. Gast was taken to the Coles County jail.

Mattoon Police arrested Collin M. Nihiser, 23 years of age of Mattoon, for the offenses of Possession of Methamphetamine, Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, and Driving while License Suspended.
The arrest occurred on 11/8/2020 at 3:36am in the 1400 block of Lafayette in Mattoon. The charges allege that on 11/8/2020 while in the 1700 block of Charleston Ave, police attempted to stop a vehicle Mr. Nihiser was operating for traffic violations, at which time Mr. Nihiser fled from police by speeding up and disobeying stop signs. Mr. Nihiser eventually exited his vehicle at which time he was apprehended in the 1400 block of Lafayette, while the vehicle he was traveling in and had abandoned struck a telephone post. It was determined he had been operating the vehicle with a suspended drivers license, and the he was wanted out of Marion County for failing to appear on a 2016 DUI case, and out of Shelby County for failing to appear in court on a 2018 traffic case. Mr. Nihiser was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine at this time. Mr. Nihiser was taken to the Coles County jail.

Mattoon Police arrested Forrest J. Donaldson, 29 years of age of Mattoon, for the offenses of Driving while License Suspended, and Resisting/Obstructing a Police Officer.
The arrest occurred on 11/8/2020 at 9:22am in the 100 block of N. 14th Street in Mattoon. The charges allege that on 11/8/2020 while in the 1400 block of Richmond Ave, Mr. Donaldson fled on foot from a traffic stop. Mr. Donaldson was apprehended in the 100 block of N. 14th Street, where he struggled with officers attempts to handcuff him. Records indicated Mr. Donaldson had been operating the motor vehicle with a suspended drivers license, and that he was wanted out of Effingham Co for failing to appear in court for a 2010 Burglary case, out of Coles County for failing to appear in court for a 2018 Forgery case, and out of Fayette County for failing to appear in court for a 2016 drug case. Mr. Donaldson was taken to the Coles County jail.

Mattoon Police arrested Tammy L. Davis, 60 years of age of Mattoon, for the offense of Domestic Battery.
The arrest occurred on 11/8/2020 at 11:53am in the 1700 block of Moultrie Ave in Mattoon. The charge alleges that on 11/8/2020 while in the 1700 block of Moultrie Ave, and during a domestic dispute, Ms. Davis sprayed a male in the face with pepper spray. Ms. Davis was taken to the Coles County jail.

Mattoon Police arrested Jeffrey M. Moore, 38 years of age of Mattoon, for the offense of Possession of Methamphetamine.
The arrest occurred on 11/9/2020 at 1:44am in the 2100 block of Prairie Ave in Mattoon. The charge alleges that on 11/9/2020 while in the 2100 block of Prairie Ave, police had contact with Mr. Moore during a drug investigation, at which time Mr. Moore had possession of methamphetamine. Mr. Moore was taken to the Coles County Jail.
