Effingham, IL -(Effingham Radio)- On 12/22/20 at 19:02, Effingham Police Officers responded to an apartment complex in the 100th block of Hendelmeyer Avenue regarding a home invasion.
Officers quickly arrived at the scene and determined a male subject had entered the garage while the resident was home. The homeowner confronted the suspected and sustained minor injuries because of the confrontation and later refused medical treatment. The resident fled the residence to call 911. Officers entered the residence and detained Dylan M. Hampton, 31, of Louisville.
Hampton was arrested for Home Invasion, Aggravated Battery and Possession of a Controlled Substance and was incarcerated at the Effingham County Jail. The Effingham City Police are still investigating the incident but believe Hampton was acting alone.
