Effingham, IL -(Effingham Radio)- This week the Effingham County Health Department announces two new positive cases of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19); there were none on Tuesday, none on Wednesday and two on Thursday.

The Health Department will have a first Dose Pfizer Clinic for ages 12 and up on Tuesday, June 8 from 9 a.m. to Noon, a first and second dose only Moderna Clinic on Thursday, June 10, from 9 a.m. to Noon, and a Johnson and Johnson “one and done” clinic on Friday, June 11 from 4 to 6 p.m. The Moderna and the Johnson clinics are for those ages 18 and up. The Department advises those eligible to make an appointment to get vaccinated as soon as possible. Appointments can be booked at www.effcohealth.org
Effingham County Health Department would also like to remind the public that those people who are fully vaccinated and then exposed to someone with COVID will not be quarantined.
Illinois Region 6 rolling test positivity was 2.1% through May 31, with Effingham County at 1.3% for the same period.
