The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber’s “Stay” isn’t the first song to hit 1 billion streams on Spotify, but in only 118 days, it’s the fastest to do so .
In comparison, the earlier record set by Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You, took an extra 35 days to hit that mark. Released in 2017, its Spotify’s most streamed song ever with over 2.9 billion listens. At least 100 songs have now reached 1 billion streams.
Olivia Rodrigo recently came close to breaking Sheeran’s record before Laroi and Bieber did. “Good 4 U” took 165 days to get there.
