On Wednesday night Altamont suffered a tough loss in overtime in the semi finals of the Sesser Valier Holiday Tournament.

Mason Robinson and Noah Klimpel combined for all the Altamont points in the quarter. As for Sesser, they made three from beyond the arc to take a one point lead 13-12 after one.
In the second quarter Sesser Valier was lead by senior Gavin Woodland, who built off his good start, would finish with 10 points in the half. For Altamont it was more of a balanced scoring effort as Klimpel found himself in foul trouble. Will Schultz and Eric Kollmann came up with a couple of big baskets and Schultz would also have a nice block. Sesser would stretch the lead to three at the half 23-20.
Altamont would battle back in the third quarter as Jared Hammer and Klimpel lead the comeback charge. As for the Red Devils they could knock down some big three pointers on kick outs from offensive rebounds. Altamont would claw back within two 36-34.
Altamont would complete the comeback in the final quarter as it was Klimpel knocking down a clutch three, Kollmann with some big baskets in the post but it was Hammer who hit the biggest three of them all. Hammer would find himself open in the corner and knock it down to tie the game. The Indians would have a chance to win it as they held onto the ball in the final minute, only to call a time out. Robinson would attempt a desperation three to win the game but it would come up short to send the game into overtime.
In the overtime session it was all Red Devils, as they would go 11-13 from the free throw line to close it out and win 60-55.
Altamont falls to 8-4 on the season and now will play in the 3rd Place game against Cobden at 3:00 P.M. It will be the Indians versus one of the best nicknames in all of Illinois, The Appleknockers.
Sesser advances to the championship to take 1 seed Christopher.
