Charleston, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Eastern Illinois University Alumni Association has announced the appointment of three new members to the Board of Directors. “My time at EIU as an active student leader in the Residence Hall Association (RHA) and as Resident Assistant for University Housing and Dining Services was the jumping-off point for my career and a time in my life I treasure to this day,” said Biernbaum. “Eastern changed my life and I still ‘Bleed Blue.’ I think joining the [Alumni Association] Board will be a great way for me to help give back to a place I love and that three generations of my family have attended—including my nephew this fall.”
Abbye Lakin is a 2011 EIU graduate, having earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Corporate Communication. She currently resides in Chicago, where she serves as director of communications for Ajinomoto Health and Nutrition.
