Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The following has been released by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office:
The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office has decided once again to participate in a No Shave November cancer awareness fundraiser this year. Through the month of November, Sheriff’s Office personnel who pledge to donate $40.00, or $10 a week, will be excused from shaving.
To allow our female Officers and employees to participate we have also partnered again with Nikki Hilton of Bladez Salon at 711 West Jefferson. For a donation, Nikki will fit a colored hair extension to any customer who wishes to show support to our cause and raise awareness. Nikki will then donate all of the money raised to FEAR NOTHING cancer support.
If you see a Uniformed Effingham County Deputy or employee in need of a shave, or wearing a colored hair extension, offer to donate to our cause. We encourage the public to participate with us. You can give your donation to any uniformed Effingham County Deputy or bring it to the Sheriff’s Office and ask that the money be directed to Lieutenant Buhnerkempe.
All of the money collect will be donated to Fear Nothing Cancer Support. They are a non-profit organization that provides fifty to seventy five thousand dollars a year to local people battling cancer in Effingham, Cumberland, Shelby, Jasper, Clay and Fayette counties.
The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office is proud to partner with and support Fear Nothing and we thank Jodi Waymoth for her hard work and dedication to this cause.
