Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The last total lunar eclipse until 2025 will take place early Tuesday morning.
If you’re awake early on Tuesday morning, the partial eclipse will begin at 3:09am, according to the National Weather Service.
Totality will last from 4:17am to 5:42am.
The moon will then set in Central Illinois before the eclipse finishes.
Further north in Central Illinois will have a view of the eclipse that is less impacted by cloud cover.
The next total lunar eclipse will take place in March 2025.
In contrast to solar eclipses, no special equipment is needed to view a lunar eclipse.
