On Tuesday night Altamont hosted a fellow Indian mascot, the Indians of Carlyle. It was the team with orange and back school colors who came with the win 53-35.
Altamont started out the game nicely as Altamont would take advantage of six opening quarter turnovers by Carlyle. It was also a balanced scoring effort from Dillon Elam and Mason Robinson both scoring five. A switch up to the starting lineup tonight as well. It was Wyatt Phillips getting the nod tonight and Keinon Eirhart sliding in for Eric Kollmann who was out due to an illness. Altamont got out to the 17-12 lead after one.
Both offense would get boughed down and going cold shooting from the field. Both teams would combine for 13 points in the second quarter and Altamont gaining the 24-18 lead at the half.
Not much would change for either team as both teams would struggle to put the ball in the hole and fouls would stack up. The difference in the third was Altamont finally hitting some threes from Phillips and Logan Cornett. Altamont would extend the lead to 34-27 after three.
After hitting seven from beyond the arc on Friday, Avery Jahraus finally hit his first three of the game in the final quarter. Another three from Cornett and some free throws from Robinson, who was 10/11 from the line all night, closed things out with the final being 53-35
Altamont improves to 4-2 on the season and are back in action on Friday for Mega Night at Altamont as the Indians take on Oblong/Pal-Hut.
Carlyle falls to 3-5 on the season.
