Farina, IL-(Effingham Radio)- FFA Week is one week every year that FFA celebrates their hard work of the year. This year it was from February 19th to 25th. South Central FFA chapter started their FFA week off strong. They attended Salem Grace Nazarene Church for morning service. After that they helped serving lunch at the Elks in Salem. They completed their Sunday by going bowling together. This was a very busy and fun day for them.
They didn’t have any school on Monday, so they came back Tuesday with Greenhand day to celebrate the first year members! The theme was green and camo, and all first year members painted their hands green. That night the Greenhands had a “Greenhand Night” with FFA State Vice President Derek Sampler. They played team building games and ate pizza.
Wednesday morning, the FFA got to the school at 5:30 and started cooking breakfast. They served the teachers and public, and also delivered meals. The school day was themed red, white, and blue.
Thursday was themed blue and gold. People wore official dress, polos, and FFA attire. The officers hosted Ag Olympics in school, where all the students could play competitive agriculture themed games.
South Central completed their week with Tractor Day on Friday. They had a total of 17 tractors there. The tractors traveled to South Central Elementary School and St Peter Lutheran School for the kids to climb on the tractors.
This week was fun filled and an amazing experience for all FFA members. They all thoroughly enjoyed and are ready to finish their year of FFA strong!
