Severe Weather Likely Today

Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Severe weather is in the forecast for today.

A line of thunderstorms is expected to track east/southeast across central and southeast IL early this afternoon. Damaging wind gusts, large hail, and a few tornadoes will be possible.

Scattered thunderstorms could be ongoing Friday morning, then re-develop later in the day. Some of the storms could be severe, with damaging wind gusts the main risk.

An unsettled weather pattern sets in today with rain and/or thunderstorm chances everyday through the new week. The smoky conditions should improve by this afternoon. Highs generally stay mid 80s to low 90s through the forecast.
