Montrose, Teutopolis FPD Respond To Accident In I-70 Construction Zone Friday

On Friday 9/29/2023 at 16:55 hours, Montrose FPD with auto-aid from Teutopolis FPD was dispatched to a reported multi vehicle accident, Interstate 70 eastbound at mile marker 105 This is within the ongoing construction zone.

C600 arrived on scene reporting 2 tractor trailer semi’s, both upright, sitting on the eastbound side with a fully involved tractor trailer behind them. Traffic at a standstill. Firefighters extinguished the fire and checked for hot spots. Initial report was no injuries. All drivers walking around. Later on in the call Rural Med transported 1 patient to St. Anthony’s Hospital to be checked out.

ISP Troop 9 investigating the cause of the accident. Firefighters cleared the scene at 18:12 hours.
