Fayette County, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Fayette County Coroner David Harris has identified the man found dead Wednesday morning in rural Fayette County, after an overnight search to try and locate the man.
Coroner Harris say the missing hunter was identified as 48 year old Joseph W. Joliff. Harris says he pronounced Joliff dead at 7:05 am on Wednesday morning in the rural Beecher City area where he was found. Coroner Harris says an autopsy was performed on Joliff Wednesday afternoon at Springfield Memorial Hospital. Harris says the results are pending and no further information is being released at this time.
Joliff went missing on Tuesday afternoon as he did not return from hunting. Fayette County Sheriff Ronnie Stevens says fire departments from around the county, along with Emergency Management and other agencies, joined in a search that went overnight Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning in the area west of Wright’s Corner.
