Chicago, IL-(Effingham Radio)- A Lake County man is facing charges over allegations of orchestrating an Internet scam that advertised puppies for sale to lure in its victims.
Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul charged Mondum Hycenth of Round Lake with theft, wire fraud, burglary, and forgery. Raoul claims victims attempted to purchase puppies through online advertisements. However, victims didn’t receive puppies and weren’t able to get their money back after sending payments through a money transfer service.
Hycenth used falsified identification and forged a signature to collect the money from transfer services located in retail stores.
