Norma Rose (Crutcher) Huddleston, 97, of Strasburg, IL, passed away at 11:55 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Lakeland Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Effingham, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2024, in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Strasburg, IL, with Rev. Kene Whybrew officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. on Friday in the church. The burial will be in Grace Cemetery, Strasburg, IL. Memorials may be given to Lutheran Ladies Aid of Strasburg, IL or Trinity Lutheran School in Stewardson, IL. Arrangements are by Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL.
Norma Rose was born on February 12, 1927, in Strasburg, IL, the daughter of Otto and Rosetta B. (Krile) Rincker. She married Ralph C. Crutcher on December 28, 1947, and he preceded her in death on January 15, 1982. She later married Wayne M. Huddleston on October 10, 1987, and he preceded her in death on April 8, 2004. Norma Rose was a life member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Strasburg, where she sang in the choir and was a member of Ladies Aid for 76 years. She also enjoyed meeting with the Seasoned Citizens group in Strasburg.
Norma Rose is survived by her son, Alan Crutcher and wife Diane of Montrose, IL; daughter, Karen Rentfro and husband Dean of Strasburg, IL; step-son, Mark Huddleston and wife Kris of Ft. Myers, FL; step-daughter-in-law Pat Huddleston of Chatham, IL; brother-in-law, Ivan Crutcher and wife Carolyn of Tower Hill, IL; sisters-in-law, Mildred Rincker of Neoga, IL, Mary Rincker of Shelbyville, IL, Eve Crutcher of Colorado Springs, CO and Wanda Lee White of Colorado Springs, CO; five grandchildren, Jennifer Boerngen (Jason), Craig Crutcher (Brenda), Jamie Abbott (David), Mitch Rentfro (Sarah), and Valerie Reed (Eric); three step-grandchildren, Todd Huddleston (Chris), Teri Huddleston and Mark Hanselman; 14 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Ralph Crutcher; second husband, Wayne Huddleston; one son in infancy, Dean Crutcher; stepson, Mike Huddleston; brothers, Dale Rincker (Gail), Ivan Rincker, Merl Rincker (Marilouise), and Loyd Rincker; brother-in-law, Charles E. Crutcher; and great nephew, Phillip Rincker.
