Two Suspects In Custody Following An Incident At Apartment Building In Effingham

Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- An incident at an apartment building on Edgar Avenue in Effingham left one person injured and sent to the hospital.

Effingham City Police Chief Jason McFarland said 27-year-old Mason W. Edinger of Montrose was arrested for aggravated battery, mob action, and aggravated assault for allegedly striking a man in the head with a camping shovel. Also arrested in connection with this incident was 40-year-old Kenny R. Martin of Effingham. Kenny was charged with aggravated battery and mob action.

Police Chief Jason McFarland gave a brief statement about the incident.

This incident occurred on Saturday morning and the suspects are now in custody.
