Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham Fire Department, with assistance from other local Fire Departments, responded to 35 Four Seasons Estates for a report of a house fire.
The fire was quickly contained, and no one was injured. Two cats were found and extracted from the home.
Assistant Fire Chief Matt Cleese gave a statement on the fire.
Cleese also said to make sure to have working smoke alarms in your house. It is a simple thing that could help save lives in the event of a fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Effingham Fire Department was assisted by Altamont FPD, Teutopolis FPD, Effingham City Dispatch, Effingham Police, Effingham Animal Control, and Ameren.
