Nashville, IL-(Effingham Radio)- People of the town of Nashville, Illinois are being evacuated due to flooding.
Heavy rain from storms last night have caused heavy flooding. Local Emergency Management says the Nashville dam, on the edge of town is damaged and could give out, flooding the area.
The Washington County, IL EMA announced the following on their Facebook page:
Secondary Dam Failure, area has been overtopped with flood waters, please evacuate if you are in the below shaded area!
Attention The Failure of the Nashville dam is imminent. Please evacuate your home at this time. Emergency shelter area is set up at 680 W Walnut St.
