Fayette County, IL-(Vandalia Radio)- A Palestine man is facing multiple drug charges in Fayette County Court.
44 year old Justin M. Cafin has been charged with Unlawful Possession of more than 400, but less than 900, grams of methamphetamine (Class X Felony), Unlawful Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine (Class X Felony) and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor).
Cafin also faces other charges. Cafin is charged with Unlawful Possession of Ammunition by a Felon, which is a Class 3 Felony as he is alleged to have possessed 40 .22lr rounds of ammunition. He is also charged with Fleeing/Attempting to Elude an Officer, which is a Class A Misdemeanor, for allegedly not pulling over when given a signal to do so by an officer. Cafin is also charged with Resisting a Police Officer, which is a Class A Misdemeanor, for allegedly refusing to obey orders and pulling away from the officer.
In Fayette County Court, probable cause was found to detain Cafin and the petition to deny release was granted. Cafin will make his next appearance in Fayette County Court with counsel on August 7th.
