On July 29, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m. the Clay County Sheriff’s Office attempted to serve a Clay County Order of Protection on an individual at a residence in Flora. The Order of Protection ordered the individual to leave and or stay a specified distance from the residence. Deputies made contact with the individual at the protected residence and gave notice of the Order of Protection to the individual, but the individual refused to cooperate and made threats towards the deputies.
The sheriff’s office requested assistance from the Flora Police Department. At approximately 3:00 p.m. law enforcement made entry into the residence and took the individual into custody.
As a result of this incident Caleb W. Perry, 28, of Flora, was arrested for the offenses of, Violation of Order of Protection, Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer, and Threatening a Public Official. Perry is currently incarcerated in the Clay County Jail.
The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
