Carlyle Lake, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Boulder Campground at Carlyle Lake will be closed beginning Sunday, September 29th through the remainder of the camping season. This closure is necessary for the demolition and construction of a new shower building facility available for use next camping season, in 2025. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Carlyle Lake is committed to providing a high-quality camping experience while minimizing maintenance challenges associated with aging infrastructure.
All reservations made during this period have been cancelled and refunded. To accommodate these cancellations, the Coles Creek Campground will remain open through Monday, October 14th. Sites 1 through 35 of loop 1 and sites 64 through 148 of loops 4 and 5 are now available for reservations. Any campers affected by the closures are highly encouraged to make reservations as soon as possible. Please visit www.recreation.gov or call the R1S (Recreation One Stop) toll free, at (877) 444-6777 or TDD at (877) 833-6777 to make your reservation.
