Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)-Â From the Effingham Fire Department Facebook page:
Yesterday was a special day for a few of our brave firefighters as they reunited with a woman whose life they heroically saved last fall.
In a touching ceremony at Effingham’s Central Fire Station, Terrie Tudor, who survived an anhydrous ammonia Haz-Mat incident while traveling through our area, finally got to personally spend time with Firefighter Ben Siemer and Firefighter Johnathon Paholke.
While the reunion was filled with smiles and hugs, one hero was missing. Lieutenant John Stroud was unable to attend, but his heroic actions and unwavering bravery were deeply felt and honored by all present.
Our firefighters, always humble, expressed how much it meant to them to see Terrie healthy and happy.
Join us in celebrating this incredible reunion and the unwavering dedication of our first responders. Their selfless actions save lives every day, and today, we were reminded of the profound impact they have on our community.
