Indianapolis, IN-(Effingham Radio)- On October 23rd through 26th, The South Central FFA Chapter took a trip to Indianapolis, Indiana for the National Convention. For the trip, The members and officers went to Casey, IL to visit the Big Things, Had Brunch at Moonshine General Store, Took a Tour of the Murphy Family Farm, Saw Dusti Crain-Dickerson at the National FFA Rodeo, Visited the Career Expo that had more than 300 exhibitors representing everything from colleges to truck manufacturers all representing agriculture, attended several general sessions where Thaddeus Bergschnider the 2023-2024 Illinois State president was elected as 2023-2024 National President, Cheered on Eli Arenas and Mitchell Brauer to get their American FFA degrees, Enjoyed an escape room that they escaped on time, watched Preston Cooper play in the National Band, and cheered on any other members at the general sessions!
The Chapter had a very fun time with the busy four-day trip! River Yingst, Kiera Cowger, Lydia Flowers, Lucas Curry, Wyatt Iler, Meagan Lotz, and the new Student-teacher Shelby Siemer! On the 24th, four freshmen went for a day trip and got to experience all that the National Convention was about. The four freshmen included Brock Sigrist, Eli Hiestand, Joslyn Grandt, and Adam Yates.
