James Everett Yingst, age 83, of Farina, Illinois passed away in the early morning of Sunday, November 17, 2024 at home, with his family by his side.
Memorial service will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Brenda Byers will be officiating. Interment will be at Mahon Cemetery in rural Edgewood at a later date. Memorials may go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the donor’s choice.
James was born on November 23, 1940 in Gillmore, Illinois, the son of Lewis and Violet (Landreth) Yingst. He married Wanda K. Cook on October 31, 1959 at Edgewood Christian Church. He loved camping, fishing, hunting, bird watching, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Yingst of Farina; sons, James “Bo” Yingst (wife Hope) of Farina and Eric Yingst (wife Tammy) of Farina; daughters, Susan Foust (husband Jerry) of Edgewood and Karen Elledge of Farina; brothers, Victor Yingst (wife Debra) of Edgewood, Robert Yingst (wife Sara) of Farina, David Yingst (wife Christy) of Missouri, and Glenn Yingst (wife Diane) of Edgewood; sisters, Violet Lilley (husband Don) of Louisville, Ruth Yingst of Farina; Fern Hays of Mason; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Violet Yingst; sisters, Kathleen Yingst, Betty Fancher, Ruby Caldwell, Emma Davis, and Maxine Wilson; brothers, Buddy Yingst and Carl Yingst; daughter, Donna K. Grabbe; grandson, Jason Ames; granddaughter, Brittney Elledge; and son-in-law, Steve Elledge.
