Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- A popular grocery store condiments food company is recalling a type of tortilla strips possibly contaminated with wheat. Sugar Foods issued the recall for the “Santa Fe Style” package of tortilla strips branded as gluten-free and sold by the brand Fresh Gourmet.
The recall was released by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on Friday. Packages of the tortilla strips with an expiration date as late as June 20, 2025, may have undeclared wheat which is not listed on the ingredient label. Products distributed between September 30th and November 11th in 22 states may be contaminated.
