Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Even colder temperatures are on the way for our area.
Below normal temperatures will continue for several days in central and southeast IL. The coldest temperatures of the next 5 days are expected today and tonight, with highs in the lower 20s and lows in the single digits to near zero. Highs from the mid 20s to lower 30s are expected each day Thursday through Monday.
There is a chance for light snow Friday, and a slight chance Sunday.
Snow is likely Friday for most of central and southeast Illinois, beginning early Friday morning and ending Friday evening. The highest potential for 1 inch or more snow is in southeastern IL, while moderate chances (40-60 percent) cover most of central IL near and east of I-55. Low chances (20-30 percent) continue for exceeding 2 inches south of I-72.
Slippery travel is possible during the Friday morning and evening commutes.
