Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Legislative Committee met Monday and discussed a few different items.
The Committee discussed some Decennial Reports from the Park District and Stewardson Fire PD, sending both to the full County Board for approval. Appointment of Natalie Bailey to the 377 Board was also approved.
The Committee then centered their discussion around wind and solar farms. A County Resident, Kathy Schroeder, mentioned to the Committee that she was advised by her neighbors that she should sign up ASAP, as the funding is starting to go away. She also said the future of the land being used should be looked into, as the solar and/or wind farms may adversely affect local agriculture and landscapes.
After further discussions about costs, jobs created, and tax incentives, the Committee decided to table the issue and look into it more.
