Fundraising Event for Walker & Rosie Bryan Memorial Fun Park

A legacy reflects an individual's passion, values, and true character for years to come. Unfortunately, tragedy can strip us of those fond memories and ultimately negatively affect a legacy. Here, we aim to highlight the inspirational legacy of Walker and Rosie Bryan despite the setting of tragedy. Walker and Rosie Bryan were two beautiful sould who left us too soon on September 29th, 2023. Alongside their father, Kenny Bryan, the siblings lost their lives due to an anhydrous leak in Teutopolis, Il. This tragic event shook severall central Illinois communities, reminding many of the bravity of life.
Walker and Rosie were much more than the victims of a tragedy. Walker was a 10-year-old boy full of life; he loved to ride his bike, help with community events, and be with family. Rosie was an energetid, larger-than-life 7-year-old. She was the life of the party, who loved art, dancing, and making others laugh. They were adored by their family and loved trememdously by all who knew them. Living in the Beecher City community, you could often find them at community events at the park and track.
To honor their legacy, an addition to the Beecher City Community Park, a place that holds great significance for the community is fitting. The park serves as a space for families to create memories as well as a place for remembrance and reflection.
The Walker and Rosie Bryan Memorial Fun Park will include a pump track and additional park upgrades. Although this will be built in the Beecher City Community Park, families from all surrounding communities are welcome to make memories here.
Initially is construction of the pump track, with a fundraising goal of $200,000, with another $100,000 goal for park equipment, improvements, and a walking path.
To kick off the fundraising efforts Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation is hosting a special event on March 29, 2025 at the KC Hall in Teutopolis. The event will feature a meal, an auction, and entertainment aimed at bringing the community together in support of this special project.
There are a variety of options to support the Walker and Rosie Bryan Memorial Fun Park through donations. You can make a one time donation, sponsor a specific project, or feature, or contribute in-kind services or materials. Every donation, big or small, matters and helps.
